20 km. One of the most evocative sites on the Tyrrhenian coast. The Sanctuary of the Black Madonna stands on a promontory overlooking the entire gulf. Below, the remains of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Tindari tell two thousand years of history in a single glance.
MARINELLO LAKES
25 km. At the foot of the Tindari promontory, a nature reserve unlike any other. Brackish water pools that change shape with the tides, surrounded by white sand dunes and Mediterranean scrub. A landscape that looks almost unreal.
CEFALÙ
100 km. One of the most beautiful villages in Sicily, with its UNESCO-listed Norman cathedral, the narrow streets of the medieval centre and one of the most photographed beaches on the island. Worth every kilometre.
SANTO STEFANO DI CAMASTRA
70 km. The home of Sicilian ceramics. Artisan workshops, vivid colours and handmade objects you won’t find anywhere else. The right place for those looking for something genuinely authentic to take home.
ALCANTARA GORGES
80 km. A natural canyon carved by lava and the waters of the Alcantara river, with black basalt walls rising tens of metres and a coolness in summer that alone makes the trip worthwhile. A spectacle of nature that is hard to forget.
NEBRODI NATIONAL PARK
16 km. The largest protected area in Sicily, where mountains, forests and lakes shape an untouched landscape. A world of hiking trails, wildlife and panoramic views that reveal the island’s wilder side, just a short drive from Villa Ridente.
